How do I download and play NuWa videos?
|
It is not necessary to download the videos to watch them. The NuWa videos automatically play in your browser using Adobe Flash technology. Flash is the format used by most of the major news organizations and media outlets, as well as websites like YouTube.com.
However, we have had some customers request the ability to download their favorite video direct to their computer, so that it can be available to watch at any time, without needing an internet connection.
We have made each video file available for you to download, if you so desire. The file type is FLV, and requires a video player on your computer that is capable of playing Flash video files. Many players will play FLV files if they are equipped with the proper Codecs, but we have found that the simplest and easiest player for FLV files is the free "FLV Player" available for download from our website (see instructions below).
To download a video to your computer, follow the simple instructions below:
- Select the video you wish to download (the video will begin playing)
- Right-click the "Download this Video" link (below the playing video)
- Select either the "Save Target As" link (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As" (Firefox) option
- Select the location on your hard drive where you want to save the
video. To make it easy to find, we suggest saving to your "Desktop" or
"My Documents" folder (simply click "Desktop" icon and then "Save").
- If you have a properly configured video player on your computer that will play FLV flash files, then you can simply double click on the file that you just downloaded, and it will begin playing. If you receive a "windows cannot open this file" dialog, then you do not have a video player on your computer that is configured to play FLV files (see below). If you hear only audio, or see only video, or have any other technical problem with the video file, then first make sure you can watch the video on the website. If it plays on the website but not on your local computer, then it is likely that your video player is not configured with the correct Codecs to play FLV files. See below.
Videos on nuwa.com are "Adobe Flash Video," which requires a proper video player to view. If you would like to install the free third party FLV Player, follow the simple instructions below:
- Download the "FLV Video Player" installer to your computer (we suggest saving to your "Desktop")
- Once the download is complete, double click the installer file to install the "FLV Video Player" on your computer
- After you have completed the installation process, then you can delete the installer file that you downloaded in the first step.
- You can now simply double click any of the FLV video files that you
download from our website, and the FLV Video Player will automatically
play the video.
Note that we have found the FLV video player to be a very good product. We use it ourselves, and have had no problems with it. However, we can not provide technical support for your computer or assist with installing or configuring this program.
